Sunday, March 24, 2019 • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm – General Session • Centennial Building
I love this time of year! It’s starting to get warmer, flowers are starting to push up out of the ground, Stake Conference is this weekend, and General Conference is right around the corner. I look forward every spring to be able to listen to our church leaders, prophets and apostles share their thoughts and testimonies of our Savior Jesus Christ.
How are we preparing?
- Are we doing things that will invite the spirit to be with us?
- Are we prepared to receive personal revelation for ourselves and for our families?
Those impressions may be the very things God wants you to know and do. We are all responsible for our own learning. Elder David A. Bednar taught: “As learners, you and I are to act and be doers of the word and not simply hearers who are only acted upon. Are you and I agents who act and seek learning by faith, or are we waiting to be taught and acted upon? A learner exercising agency by acting in
accordance with correct principles opens his or her heart to the Holy Ghost and invites His teaching, testifying power, and confirming witness. Learning by faith requires spiritual, mental, and physical exertion and not just passive reception”. {Ensign Sept 2007}
We love you sisters and pray for you! We know each of you have different challenges and things that you are struggling with. We bear testimony that our Savior Jesus Christ is there waiting for us to yoke ourselves with Him. He can help us bear our burdens and find relief. Have a wonderful week sister!!
Love, Gentry

Ministering to our Sisters
Shepherding Souls
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
Isn’t it remarkable how such small efforts can have eternal consequences? This truth is at the heart of the Church’s ministering efforts. Heavenly Father can take our simple, daily efforts and turn them into something miraculous.
The Savior showed by example what it means to minister as He served out of love. … He … taught, prayed for, comforted, and blessed those around Him, inviting all to follow Him. … As Church members minister [in a higher and holier way], they prayerfully seek to serve as He would—to … ‘watch over the church always, and be with and strengthen them,’ ‘visit the house of each member,’ and help each become a true disciple of Jesus Christ.”

The elders quorum president and the Relief Society president communicate important needs directly to the bishop and will receive counsel and direction from him.
"A new name, new flexibility, and fewer reports will not make one ounce of difference in our service unless we see this as an invitation to care for one another in a bold new holier way."

Please keep Cliff Dunston and Judy in your prayers.
Leslie Elmer is in Montana helping her daughter recover from a surgery. There's been some setbacks and hard things that they are dealing with and Leslie reached out to ask for prayers from her Saratoga Springs friends. Please pray for her to have the strength and endurance to continue to help her daughter and family and that things may improve soon so she can come home. She also asks if you want to contact her to do it through email as phone service is very spotty where she is at. Her birthday is coming up on March 29th and the best way to help her feel loved is through email as she won't be home to receive your thoughtful gifts and hugs.
