Do you find yourself sad, mad or glad most of the time?  What causes you to feel this way?  Perhaps a few ideas might be... unrealistic expectations, our children and their choices and or actions, not part of the crowd, choices others are making, feeling inadequate, illness, life isn't fair, loss of loved ones and the list goes on.  Ironically these can apply to any of the 3.

We may not always get to choose what life hands us but we do get to choose how we respond to it.  First validate your feelings and then choose what you will then do with them.

When we choose to be sad or mad we are ultimately giving up control - we are letting others control our feelings.  This happens most frequently when we have been wronged by others. How do we move past that?  Forgiveness!  Our Savior taught us to forgive all!  As we forgive, our hearts will heal and we can feel more joy in our life.  This doesn't always mean those who wronged you have had a change of heart but because you have forgiven them you can be free of their control.

We must remember that we are the spiritual DNA of our Heavenly Father.  We must learn to recognize the spirit.  If you are having a hard time finding joy, try silencing your brain and tune into the spirit.

President Uchtorf said:  I have learned for myself that the path of discipleship in the gospel of Jesus Christ is the way to joy.  It is the way to safety and peace.  It is the way to truth.

Council Action for March (and April)
Everyone: Build a stronger relationship with your Father in Heaven.
Personalize it: Choose one thing that you need to work on to become closer to Heavenly Father.
Examples: attend the temple more often, spend more time in the scriptures, have more meaningful prayers, read and reread your patriarchal blessing, study conference talks, use positive talk about yourself, etc.

Our RS Birthday Party was a lot of fun! Thank you to our wonderful activities committee for all they did in providing an enjoyable evening!
