March 4th Weekly Connection

It's a Wrap.... What will you do with it now?
How do we see ourselves vs. How does Heavenly Father see us? council led by Valerie

We need to look at ourselves as our Heavenly Father does and build a strong personal relationship with Him. In what ways can I look at myself in positive ways instead of negative ways?

We are our biggest critics and easiest targets. It is easier to speak negatively of ourselves than it is to speak positively.

Look at how you feel about yourself … Are you light and beauty? YES! We are created by a loving Heavenly Father that created us with talents and attributes that He has in Himself. Let us look at ourselves in positive ways. It’s Satan that wants us to dwell on what the world thinks of us or how we assume others are judging us.

There is a difference between self-esteem and self-worth. Self-esteem is how the world judges us, but self-worth is how our Heavenly Father and Savior look at us. It is our soul that is of worth!

Criticism is like a cup with holes in it, when we look at ourselves in a positive way we can fill those holes and fill our cups with positive things.

On a list of things that we love about ourselves, how would we write ourselves? We are daughters of a Heavenly Father that loves us, that’s who we really are. We need to trust our Heavenly Father, He listens to our prayers and answers them. He is aware of our struggles. That is why he gave us His Son who took upon Himself our infirmities, our struggles, our pain, our loneliness, our doubts and our sins. He gives us these struggles so we can ask, what can I learn or what am I supposed to be learning? We may not immediately understand why we are experiencing struggles, they may be preparing us for something in the future.

The Savior said in D&C 6:36 “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not."
Look unto our Savior for peace, His arms are always open.
